Lee Montgomery Poston, 86, of King George, VA, died Thursday, January 11, 2018, at his home. He was born on April 2, 1931, in Marion, VA, to Lilburn and Helen Poston. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Nancy N. Poston; two daughters, Terry Porter and Linda Campoli (John), both from Fredericksburg, VA; and a son, Michael Poston (Debra), from Clovis, NM. Lee served in the US Army from 1952-1954, where he was awarded a medal for Marksmanship. After completing his service, he attended Bluefield College and the Virginia Polytechnic Institute/State University (now Virginia Tech). He began work at the Naval Weapons Laboratory, Dahlgren, VA, in 1959 as an Electrical Engineer. He retired from the Naval Surface Weapons Center in 1987, after a combined 30 years of service (both military and civilian).Lee had a great love for his country, and took great pride in being able to repair nearly any appliance in the home. He had a life-long love for hunting, as well as for photography. He enjoyed watching vintage movies, especially war movies and westerns. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to the King George Rescue Squad, 8122 Kings Highway, King George, VA 22485. The family will receive friends 1:00-2:00 p.m. Monday, January 15, 2018, at Storke Funeral Home, Nash-and Slaw Chapel, King George, VA. A private burial will be conducted at Historyland Memorial Park.
