Lawrence E. Cannon, 73 of Fredericksburg passed away Sunday, October 8, 2017 at his home. Born in Caroline County, he began his career in the newspaper industry working for Senator Paul Manns at the Caroline Progress and also worked for Mr. Manns in his funeral home. He retired from the Free Lance Star after 35 years of service. In his younger years, he was also an active member of the Bowling Green Volunteer Rescue Squad.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Juanita Cannon; his brother, Sherman Cannon; his five sons, Lawrence E. "Larry" Cannon, Jr. (Carla), Mark Cannon (Sue), David Paul Cannon, Bobby Cannon (Sarah) and Joseph Cannon; his grandchildren, Ashley, Lisa, David, Haley, Damien, Taylor, Austin and Seth; his great grandchildren, Raven, Ayden, Nina and Carter.

A memorial service will be held Friday, October 13th at 7:00 PM in the chapel of Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green, with Rev. Kevin James officiating. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.storkefuneralhome.com.
