June Marie Miller, 87 of Colonial Beach, passed away Friday, June 2, 2017. Mrs. Miller was born Thursday, June 27, 1929 in Duluth, Minnesota to the late Axel and Tina Peterson. She served her country in the U.S. Navy Wave and was a member of the Salvation Army, 8 & 40 and the following organizations in Colonial Beach: American Legion Auxiliary, Fire Department Auxiliary Life Member, V.F.W., Moose Lodge, and also an active member of Colonial Beach Baptist Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Mary Birckhead (Warner), step-daughter, Linda Fuller (William), grandchildren, Serene Dickerson, Terri Czako, Michael Wingo, Jessie Walters, Jennifer Megee, Ryan Gibson, Melissa Gibson, great-grandchildren "Her Boys"; Aaron Dickerson, Trenton Dickerson and Terrin Dickerson,
nine great-grandchildren, two great great-grandchildren, sister Ruth Pehl, brother Robert Peterson(Edith), three nieces, three nephews, six great nieces and nephews, 11 great great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Terrell Dodson (Mary Birckhead's father), her late husband Virgil Miller (Linda Fuller's father) and great-grandson, Jeryl Dickerson, Jr.

A funeral service will be held at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Colonial Beach Baptist Church with burial following at Round Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to any of the organizations that Mrs. Miller was a member. Condolences may be left for the family at
