Irene VirginiaTignor Carter, 99, of Ruther Glen died Tuesday, November 13, 2018. She was the widow of Charles Linwood Carter. Mrs. Carter was a member of Cardinal Baptist Church and a member of the Ladysmith Volunteer Rescue Squad and a Busy Bee Club. She loved gardening, crocheting, animals and was a caretaker to many of her friends.

She is survived by three children, Charles Carter(Shelby), Jean C. Taylor (the late David) and Barbara Tate (Melvin "Bunny"); ten grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Tignor and a half-sister, Leona Hornack.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, November 16, 2018, at Cardinal Baptist Church, Ruther Glen, VA with Rev. John Boquist. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Carmel Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cardinal Baptist Church. Sign register book online www.storkefuneralhome.com.
