George Edwin Keith LeFurjah, 68, of King George, passed away peacefully in his home on October 11th, 2018 surrounded by loved ones. A Memorial service and picnic will be held at 3pm on November 10, 2018. If interested in attending, please RSVP to Dahlgren United Methodist Church, (540) 663-2230, for address and further information. George was born in Jackson County, Missouri to Gloria and Jim LeFurjah on May 24th, 1950. He went to high school in Long Branch, New Jersey and graduated from Rutgers University with a BA and MS in Electrical Engineering. He worked for Technology Services Corporation and then worked for the Department of Defense for many years as a radar engineer. George met his beloved Fern in November 1993. They were married on July 30th, 1994 and moved to their home in King George. George enjoyed many hours building his house and making their home together. George and Fern worked tirelessly for the community for many years. They coordinated the Diakonia Council which worked with social services to facilitate local churches' involvement in caring for the surrounding community. George was an essential part of many of Fern's efforts to help anyone in need as well as teach various Bible studies and Children's churches. George enjoyed good music, good food, good books, and good company. He loved the Opera and enjoyed introducing his chosen daughters to the fine arts as well. His wife, Fern, and his parents Jim and Gloria preceded him in death. George is survived by his son, Justin LeFurjah; sister, Lois Ash; nephews, Aaron and Noah; chosen daughters: Toy Suon, Katy Weaver, Kerry Dachos; chosen grandchildren: Dillan, Eric, Kathryn, Magnolia, Arabella, and Alex; treasured dogs, Charlie and Louis. Loved ones of George wish to extend their sincere thanks to the congregation of Dahlgren United Methodist Church for their support. A special thank you to George's cardiologist, Dr. Richard Cook, and the staff at VCU Medical Center 10th floor east, for taking exceptional care of George through his heart condition.
