Fred W. Carl, Jr., 82 of Rappahannock Academy passed away Friday, October 28, 2017 at his home. Born in San Diego, he served his country in the United States Navy Reserve and in the United States Army. Fred was athletic and an avid sports fan. He was a man of many talents and trades and had great wisdom that he passed on to all who spent time with him.

Survivors include his children, Halvor Carl, Debbie Libby (Mel), Diane Maiura (John), Darlene Jones, Donna Moore (Jay), Ann Miller (Troy), David Carl and Tricia Carl; two step children, Kimberly and Wesley Phillips; his sister, Dorothy "Dot" Murray (Buddy); 21 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 4 nieces and nephews.
