Fern Elizabeth Williams Lefurjah left the arms of her beloved husband for the arms of her beloved Savior on Wednesday, July 26, 2017. Fern was born in Fredericksburg, Virginia, on March 3, 1954.

She is survived by her husband and soulmate, George Lefurjah; stepson, Justin Lefurjah; sister, Faith (Greg) Shortal; chosen daughters, Toy (Dara) Suon and Katy (Daniel) Weaver; nieces, nephews; and her furry children Charlie, Hope, and Louie. She was predeceased by her parents, Leroy and Jean Elizabeth Williams.

Fern was a graduate of Fredericksburg City Schools. She earned a bachelor's degree and a master's degree from James Madison University. She worked with stroke victims at a head trauma center in Harrisonburg, Virginia. She also served as a speech pathologist in Little Washington, Stafford, and King George.

Fern met her beloved husband, George, in November 1993. It was love at first sight for both of them. They married July 30, 1994, and moved to their home in the countryside of King George. They spent countless happy hours there gardening, listening to classical music, raising their chickens, and most of all, enjoying each other's company.

Fern was a devoted servant to those in need. For many years, she coordinated the Good Samaritan Ministry at Dahlgren United Methodist Church. She was a gifted Christian educator and wrote many learning materials, particularly for young children. She started the Little Lambs Ministry at Dahlgren United Methodist Church and was also very involved in Children's Church there for several years. Fern's ability to share the Good News of Christ to children of all ages, her generous heart, and her unforgettable sense of humor will long be remembered by family and friends.

A celebration of Fern's life will be held at Dahlgren United Methodist Church on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 11 AM. Condolences may be left for the family at
