Emmitt A. Hayden, 90 of Massaponax passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2018 in Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center.

He was born and lived his entire life on Guinea Station Road. After serving in the United States Navy, Emmitt worked as a mechanic for several dealerships in Fredericksburg. For over 45 years, he owned and operated Hayden Auto Service in Massaponax.

Survivors include his sons, Darrell Hayden (Nancy) and Donnie Hayden (Amy); his daughter in law, Diane Hayden (whose husband David preceded his father in death); a sister, Francis McWhirt; a brother, Edward "Bop" Hayden (Virginia Mae); 7 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Hayden, his brother and sister in law, Cecil and Virginia Hayden and his sister and brother in law, Marion and Howard Brown.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, April 3rd at 11:00 AM in Round Oak Baptist Church, Corbin, with a reception to follow in the church fellowship hall. A graveside burial of his cremains will take place at 2:30 PM in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fredericksburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
