Drucilla "Dru" Dolores Pannell Doan, 93, of Colonial Beach, formerly of Northern Virginia, passed into the arms of her Lord Friday, June 15, 2018 at the Hughes Home in Fredericksburg. She was born Tuesday, July 15, 1924 in Oklahoma to the late Jack and Mary Ruth Austin Pannell. She served her country in the United States Army and was a member of Cranford United Methodist Church in Lorton, VA. Dru retired from Ft. Belvoir D.O.D. Finance and Accounting Department in 1993 and later at the age of 83 retired from the Woodbridge Moose Lodge. She was a life member of the Woodbridge #653 Women of the Moose, where she served as the Deputy Grand Regent for the State of VA from 1991-1992. She was also a life member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by her four children, Ruth Doan-Pietras (Richard) of Colonial Beach, VA, Charles W. Doan of North Myrtle Beach, SC, James W. Pleasant (Donna) of High Point, NC, Virginia Hensley of Lexington, NC; sister, JoAnn Miller of OK; brother, Robert Pannell of TX, and was Granny to 16 grandchildren; David Lee (Martha), Michael (Wendy), David (Liberty), Susan (Tony), Mary (Alex), Katie (Eric) Richie (Nikki), Olivia and Chad; 22 great-grandchildren; Nichole, Andrew, Alicia (Preston), Chris (Lauren), Trevor, Gracie, Colson, Elizabeth (Mike), Hutch, Chris, Timothy, Kyrstin, Shawn, Coren, Jylian, Tre, Charlie, Hailey and Bentley; and 5 great-great grandchildren; Zachary, Bryson, Kaylee, Alyssa and Jaxtyn. She left behind numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her loving husband and best friend, Charles A. Doan, her parents and 3 brothers, Kenneth, Walter and Jimmy Pannell.

A visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until 7:00 P.M. Monday, June 18, 2018 at Storke Funeral Home, Nash & Slaw Colonial Beach Chapel, 131 3rd St. Colonial Beach, VA 22443 with the Women of the Moose service beginning at 6:30 PM. A celebration of life will be held immediately following at Colonial Beach Moose Lodge. Burial with graveside service will be held at a later date at Greenmount Cemetery in Wendell, NC.
In Lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to: Moose Charities, 155 S. International Dr., Mooseheart, IL 60539 and/or the Alzheimer's Assoc., 4600 Cox Rd #130, Glen Allen, VA 23060.
