Douglas R. Javins, 70 of Beaverdam passed away Sunday, October 15, 2017. Born in Charlottesville, he had retired with over 30 years of service with Rappahannock Electric Cooperative. Douglas was happiest when he was riding in his 1970 Chevy pickup truck.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn; two sons, Douglas Clay Javins (Kathryn) and Robbie Blanton (Mellisa); his four grandchildren, Eleanor and Luke Javins and Ryan and Chris Blanton and numerous extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnie and Ella Javins.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held Sunday, October 22nd at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green, with Rev. Charles Tillapaugh officiating. The family will receive friends, one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, www.afsp.org .
