Cynthia Ann Cabaniss, 82, of King George County, passed away Sunday, October 22, 2017 at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg. She was born Thursday, September 19, 1935 in Washington, DC to the late Edgar Allen Smith and Florence Wagner Smith. Cynthia retired in 1973 as an administrative assistant for the National Lutheran Council to raise her children. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in King George and she loved her church and her family.

Cynthia is survived by her daughter Cynthia Melyssa Quick (Norman W. Quick), sons, Christopher Wagner Cabaniss and Robert Jennings Cabaniss (Christie Cabaniss), Jr., nine grandchildren, Tyler Norman Quick, Brandon Christopher Quick, Nathaniel Jennings Quick, Joshua William Quick, Abigail Graci Cabaniss, Wade Christopher Cabaniss, Hannah Melyssa Cabaniss, Catherine Elizabeth Cabaniss, and Robert Jennings Cabaniss, III. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert Jennings Cabaniss and her brothers, Frank Redinger and Carl C. "Jack" Redinger.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church with a visitation one hour prior. Rev. Terrance A. Nauman will be officiating. Interment will take place Monday, October 30, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Quantico National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Peace Lutheran Church, 5590 Kings Hwy., King George, VA 22485. Condolences may be left for the family at
