Colonel Calvin Shook, 88, of King George County, passed away Sunday, October 7, 2018. He was born Wednesday, December 25, 1929 in Tate City, GA. Colonel served his country in the United States Army in Germany in the Tank Division. After he returned home from Germany he began training and caring for race horses. He had a love for the outdoors and enjoyed trapping, hunting and fishing.
Colonel is survived by five of his six children; Diane M. Beavers, Brenda M. Chance, Darlene M. Pitt, Dennis J. Shook, Darrell W. Shook, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, October 11, 2018 at Storke Funeral Home, Nash & Slaw Chapel, 11089 James Madison PKWY., King George, VA 22485 where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will follow at Hanover Baptist Church Cemetery, King George, VA.
