Carl F. Durfee Jr., of King George County, quietly passed away at home, with his wife, his mother and his son by his side, on 12 August, 2017 after a brave battle with a long-term illness. Through all of it, he believed God had a plan, and he is now at peace with his Holy Father.

Mr. Durfee is survived by his wife of 15 years, Audrey Durfee; his son, Jeffrey Durfee; his daughter, Kimberly Phillips and her husband Cody; his daughter, Rachel and her husband Salvador; and his son, Jimmy Carroll and his fiancé, Micaela Madison. He is also survived by five grandsons: Noah, Samuel, Dominic, Isaac and Parker; and granddaughter on the way, Isla; as well as his mother-in-law, Ellen.

Originally from Rhode Island, Mr. Durfee is also survived by his mother, Elizabeth; brothers, Horace, David and Scott; and sisters, Karen and Sharon. He was predeceased by his father, Carl F. Durfee, Sr.

In addition to his abundant love for his wife Audrey, Carl's passions in life included playing electric guitar as a member of the Oakland Baptist Praise Team and flying remote control airplanes with, most recently, the Fredericksburg Area Remote Control Club.

A service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, 18 August 2017 at Oakland Baptist Church in King George County, followed by a reception at the church. In lieu of flowers, the Durfees request that donations be made to the Oakland Baptist Church Building Fund, or the Multiple System Atrophy Research Fund at Condolences may be left for the family at
