Agnes Selph Covington, 95, of Kidds Fork died Sunday, November 19, 2017 at her home. Born in Caroline she was a longtime member of Mt. Hermon Baptist Church where she had served as Sunday school teacher, choir director, and President of WMU. She worked in the Postal Service for a total of 23 years and retired as Postmistress of the Milford Post Office. Agnes served as President and Vice-President of NARFE, was an officer with the American Cancer Society and Salvation Army and also volunteered as Postmistress at the Boy Scout Jamboree at Ft. A.P. Hill.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde E. Covington; two sisters, Edna Hancok and Marion Chinault; and a brother, Lewis D. Selph. Survivors include her three children, Susan Brown (Rowland), Virginia Hoskins (Steve) and Herbert Covington (Sharon); eight grandchildren, Stephanie Brieling (Anthony), Christy Church-Brown (Chris), Patrick Raines, Daniel Raines (Ariane), Sarah Hoskins Davis (Creed), Herbert Covington III, Jeremy Covington, Caroline Covington Bowmer (Cary); thirteen great-grandchildren, Michael Metheny, Christopher Clark, Adam Church, Alex Church, Hannah Church, Kalista Brown, Carter Davis, Cole Davis, Kayson Raines, Annalee Raines, Alexis Covington, Baylam Bowmer, and Pearson Bowmer; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Selph and her caregivers, June Beazley, Debbie George, Mary Jane Martin and Mary Gray.

The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21 at Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22 at Mt. Hermon Baptist Church with Rev. Wes Mason and Rev. Rob Fox officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family requests in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the Mt. Hermon Baptist Church WMU, c/o Betty Schools, P. O. Box 684, Bowling Green, VA. 22427.
