WRIGHT, Wayne, 73, of Richmond, formerly of Bowling Green, passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2017.

He had retired after 33 years as a Police Officer in the City of Richmond. After retirement, Wayne enjoyed working as a safety shuttle driver at the University of Richmond.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Wright; his son, Adam Wright; his daughter, Christy Wright (Lamar); his granddaughter, Mariah; his sisters, Faye Bryant (Eddie) and Dare Wright (Tommy); and other loving relatives and a host of longtime friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otho and Kathleen Wright and his brothers, Earl Eidecker and Marvin Wright.

The family will receive friends at Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green, Monday, May 15, from 4 to 7 p.m. A service to celebrate his life will be Tuesday, May 16, at 11 a.m., in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. David Upshaw officiating. Burial will follow in Lakewood Cemetery. Wayne's request would have been for all his friends to dress casual for his funeral. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Tuckahoe Vol. Rescue Squad, 1101 Horsepen Road, Richmond, Virginia 23229 or the SPCA, 2519 Hermitage Road, Richmond, VA 23220.
